Our Building Consultancy has been appointed Lead Project Manager following a fire at a central Bristol Science & Exhibition facility.

Comprising in excess of 120,000sq.ft of exhibition space located on Bristol harbourside, our client suffered from a “freak” fire to their roof believed to be caused by a (bird) damaged solar panel. Following 4hrs of fire service attendance to ensure that the fire was contained and extinguished, significant water damage was caused to the internal fabric and M&E infrastructure to what is a highly complex and advanced building. Fortunately, key exhibits were saved from damage as a result of the event.

Working in partnership once again with specialist complex insurance remediation contractor EG Carter, our team are collectively working through a sequence of validations and testing of all systems together with the physical repair and reinstatement/replacement in order to yield the facility back to our client in a safe and restored condition prior to full re-occupation and re-launch.

Works remain ongoing with a targeted completion towards the end of Q1 2023.
